What is Judo

Judo is Japan’s “Gentle Way”, it is a art form developed by Dr Jigoro Kano in 1882 in Tokyo Japan. It is a system of training the body and mind to act in the most efficient manner. Judo uses the flexible and efficient use of balance, leverage and momentum to preform its techniques. It helps individuals to develop character and self confidence. The aim of judo is self perfection. You improve yourself physically, mentally, emontionally, socially and spiritually. Simply stated the goal of judo is to make you the best person you can be. Judo Is based on two principles – Maximum efficiency with minimum effort and mutual welfare and benefit. It became an Olympic sport in 1964.
